Dear Luisa:

Thank you so much for the Work Book of  "Little Johnny goes to Italy".

Your system of teaching is very effective.  I printed the Work book with my printer. Now I listen to the Program on my computer while I read the Work Book, and suddenly everything comes together.....

You are the best teacher!  Keep up the good work, your student Anthony.

Thank you Anthony!

Susie from Maryland wrote:

Dear Luisa:

I'm Irish, but my boyfriend is Italian.  We almost broke up because his family cannot accept the fact that I'm not Italian!  What can I do to be accepted?  I really love my boyfriend, he is "my love and my pet", he is romantic, charming, he is the apple of my eye. Please help.

Dear Susie:

There is a little of "Italian" in every one.
Show your boyfriend's family that you are Italian at heart.  Talk with your hands,
be romantic and sentimental, cook some spagetti and
lasagna, and dress with style. Also play some Italian music....
There you have it.... this is a good start....in no time you will be accepted with open arms.
Later I will give you and the Internet students more details about the Italian culture.

Best regards,
Luisa

Katherine from California just received her Work Book and this what she said:

I love it. The workbook is great. It is great to hear your voice!... I am going to enjoy using your system to learn Italian.

Mr. Smith from Michigan wrote:

Dear Luisa:

My wife and I are both Italian descendants, but unfortunately we have never learned our mother language, Italian.   We are both in the 50's now.  With our children grown up we could have time to learn this fashinating language.   Do you think your Work Book would be easy on us? We would have to start from ground Zero!

Dear Mr. Smith:

Congratulations for wanting to learn Italian.
My Work Book will be easy on you because all of the instructions are in English.  Then every Italian word has the corresponding English translation, that way you do not have to guess what I'm saying.  Also many words are illustrated with pictures.  The Work Book contains 120 colored illustrations.  And in most cases there is room for you to practice writing in Italian.  It will be as easy as pie!   Furthermore you will be hearing my voice pronouncing every word in the Work Book,  and all of the 2,250 words of the Vocabulary, plus the 150 entries of the "Key Words and Sentences".
Now you will be able to say to your wife (in Italian): "Give me a kiss".  And she will be able to say: "Here it is."  Order a set today. Luisa

Dear Luisa,  One night, I was doing a search for Italian speaking on the net. I came accross two sites that I found helpfull. The other site was, in my eye's, a promotion for a certin company. Your site bolsters the culture, the passion, and love of our wonderful land. The use of Johnny, and family is GREAT  ( Family is important to us you know!)

I visit the site as often as possible, so I can piece new words together, as I am a hopless romantic, to my love, who by the way is teaching me her language: Greek. Luisa, thank you. I give you my respect as should any person who visits this site. You are doing a great job! Michael  Z.

Luisa: Your site is sooooo cool ! Thank you ! I am a 46 year old pure Italian  but never learned how to speak it , which has been a long time dream! I found this site through my neice Kari. I  also cyber chat with a girl in Italy who'll be surprised ! Thanks again. Sharron

I´m a 20 year old mexican  who is fond of your culture and is interested in learning your language.

Thanks.  CIAO!!   Martin Nava

lesson 7  I think that your course is very good.  I really appreciate you offering this course.  I speak a little spanish already and I love languages so I'm tryin to learn all that I can from your lessons. They are very easy to follow and I like how you start with the fundamentals first and have a few vocabulary words.  Thank you --- Mike O.

Ciao Luisa, My name is Tom Ahern and I am a 19 year old performing arts student from Perth, Western Australia. I study singing, acting and dancing and am very interested in all areas of life. I have a real passion for learning languages and when I was at school I studied Italian for two years but I had forgotten a lot of what I learned. Today I was thinking about how much I would like to start learning Italian again and that's when I found your site.  I have been working through the lessons on your site and although some of the work up to now is revision for me I am really enjoying the challenge that the later lessons are posing. I am now up to lesson nine and will stop here for the week and continually revise the lessons up to here. Last year I was living in the United Kingdom with my parents and I had the chance to go to Italy three times. I absolutely loved it and I would like to live there one day. All the Italian that I had learned in school came flooding back to me and I had no problems asking for directions or ordering food. My favorite place in Italia was probably Sorrento with its high cliff faces and beautiful scenery. I went to Capri also and was absolutely spellbound by how magnificent it was. I picked up a few eating habits while I was there also. I now love to eat fresh bread with olio drizzled on it and I am totally addicted to Italian gelati. Another favorite of mine (although its a bit naughty) is limon cello. It is delicious!! Oh well I will leave it here and will continue the lessons on your excellent site. Hopefully by the end of my study I will be able to write to you in italian. But for now. Ciao Luisa, e grazie!  Tom.

Dear Luisa:   Come stai? I am a Spanish teenager I'm following your classes and feel I'm becoming successful. Io sto bene. This is something I heard from an Italian friend. I can talk Spanish, German, English, and now I am learning Italian with you.  Thank you vey much! I just wanted to ask you something: who is the boy and the man that are in the home page. Are they really family Amato? Cool!!! Yours sincerely,        Guillermo Quintana Ramos

Luisa:

thank you so much for this project... Amanda is really enjoying the lessons. She keeps practicing the words using different sounding voices!!   lol. I would have never thought of her learning Italian, thank you for opening up this opportunity for us. :-) Rhonda

Ciao Luisa, I'm enjoying your lessons very much.  I lived in Sicily for 2 years, but that was 25 years ago and I've lost most of my Italian.  My ex-husband was in the US Navy stationed at Sigonella and we lived in a beautiful little town, Belpasso, on the slopes of Mount Etna.  Would love to go back some day.  Thank you, Jaye Mason

HI! My name is Vanessa Lynn Venezia. I am Italian. My mother is 100%Italian. I love the language Italian, and I would like to learn it. My father only knows the languages Spanish, Greek, English, and Latin.... In my house English is spoken. A lot of my friends speak Italian, but they won't teach me. I am 11 years old, in the 6th grade. In our High school, they only teach the languages Spanish and French. I came online to find a place to learn Italian, so I hit   www.learningitalian.com and it brought me to your site. I think it is Terriffic! The backgrounds are catchy, and how they say it to you is great. Now, I am going to study real hard with this. I thank you so very much. From, Vanessa

Luisa

We'd like to be part of the trip, although we're far.  I am Italian and currently teach 3rd graders who are bilingual/Spanish speakers. Thank-you MaryLee

Luisa,

I think your online tutorial is excellent.  Basics are covered in an interesting way and then you move onto the more difficult material at just the right pace.  I will use your website to help me with my goal of learning Italian.  I also love the fact it is free.  This kind of education is what I love about learning.  I am studying Italian because I just married into an Italian family after knowing them for three years.  They are so interesting and I love their culture and the beauty of their language.  They are all from Sicily.  Four members of the family came from Italy for the wedding.  The only part that was bad, was that it was hard for me to communicate with those four, because they did not speak English and I did not speak Italian.  In July of 2000 we are going to Sicily for three weeks, and it is my goal to learn the basics of Italian so I can communicate with them and enjoy my vacation better.  Thank you for your help, and I will continue to use your "classroom".

Dear Luisa, I have recently been studying your web site.  It has been a great help in my attempt to increase my skills in Italian.  I had the great fortune to live in Bella Napoli for 5 years, but unfortunately, I have forgotten most of my Italian. Thanks for helping me get some of my language skills back. Christian Walters

Luisa,

I am a student of Italian , as my babbo did not teach me nor my sisters and brothers to speak his first language (Italian). I am probably at the 1st grade level, but I am 53 years old. I really enjoyed this webpage.   Grazie Mille. Katherine

Hello!  My name is Kate, and I am very fortunate to have found your website.   I'm trying to learn Italian, and it's a great reference spot for me.  I'm 19 years old, and graduated from homeschooling not quite 2 years ago.  My grandmother is Italian, and my great-grandmother spoke only Italian, no English at all ( which meant I really couldn't communicate with her very well.)  I am determined to learn the Italian language, I love the culture, and it is an important part in the life of my family.  I plan on going to Italy in the future, possibly for a good length of time, and so I must have diligence in learning the language.  I guess I pretty much just wanted to say thank you for your effort in teaching, it is much appreciated!!  Happy Thanksgiving! Kate R.

CIAO LUISA,  YOUR WEB SITE HAS HELPED MY ITALIAN SOOO MUCH!  AT MY HIGH SCHOOL, THEY ONLY OFFER BASIC LANGUAGES (LATIN,SPANISH,FRENCH). BUT I WANTED TO LEARN SOMETHING ELSE. I HAVE AN ITALIAN PEN PAL, AND BECAUSE OF YOUR SITE I CAN NOW WRITE TO HIM IN ITALIAN! THANK YOU SO MUCH.  CIAO,  MELISSA ALEXANDER

Hello, I'm one of your "on line" students. My name is Sandy Sheldon and I'm currently in the 10th grade. I was very happy to  find a site where I could learn the Italian language from a beginner's level. I'm hoping that some day I will visit Venice, Italy.

My grandma Mazie, which I call Nana, lived in Rome until she was 25. She and her family moved to Brooklyn NY in 1955. Before she died, in 1998, she would often talk about how wonderful and beautiful Italy was. She talked about her close-knit neighborhood and the friendly people.  Nana showed me how to cook the "right way", adding the ingredients not by measuring, but by taste. She made me promise that I would go see Italy when I grew up, and I decided to learn the language before I go there. I suggest that you add an interactive language game to your site. Over all I think you are doing a wonderful job. Please keep teaching people the Italian language and culture.  Thank you, Sandy.

Hey Luisa~ My name is Geoff and I'm a 17 year old american from Connecticut, I'm 3/4 italian, and my school doesn't offer italian, but i'm fluent in spanish also so I'm hoping that spanish may help my italian. All my relatives speak italian, but a rule for them was "no italian in the house" growing up....so they didn't speak it to me, but now they'd be willing to. I'm learning from books and from your web page, it's hard :-( The best part about your web page is the SOUNDS, because i have tons and tons of vocab from the books, but some of the vowels are hard to say Thanks, Geoffrey
